Depend on Faith

After making a run to Target for my mom, I got in my car to head out of the parking lot toward home.

Before I could get out, though, I saw how nice the weather was and figured a walk outside wouldn’t be a bad idea.

After re-parking my car and heading down the street, I met a lady named Bonita who was sitting on a bench.

She was waiting to catch up with some old high school friends, but she had some time to talk.

Though she was from North Carolina, Bonita had moved as a child and is now living here in DC, where a lot of her family and friends still are.

She explained that she works as a nurse in gerontology, which means that she takes care of older patients.

Though the pandemic made her job considerably more difficult, Bonita said that it has greatly improved since then.

In her free time, Bonita enjoys listening to classical musicians, such as Bach and Handel.

Meet Bonita

What brings her joy?

As for her source of joy, Bonita explained that she often leans on her faith in God to bring her joy.

Her relationship with Him is a strong one, and she feels a sense of protection through this.

Her faith has grown over the years, she said, and over time she grew to appreciate it more and more.

One of the best parts about it to her is that it’s a lifelong source of joy, so she can always rely on it.

As she explained, a lot of people have difficult questions throughout their lives, and in her opinion, faith can bring a lot of those answers.
