Bon Voyage

My mom and I had just gotten back from a day of college visits in Los Angeles, so we were seriously tired.

After a vital nap at the hotel, she was still sleeping, and I decided to go hang out in the lobby.

After sitting for a while, I saw a man waiting at the hotel entrance and figured he would be a good person to talk to until my mom texted me to come up.

His name was Travis, and he was visiting from North Carolina for his friend’s baby shower.

He had actually lived in LA for 21 years before recently moving back home to North Carolina, where his family had stayed.

In LA, Travis had worked in film production and loved it, having worked with companies such as MTV on various shows.

In all honesty, he was in just about the best place in the world for that business, and he seemed to definitely agree.

Meet Travis

What brings him joy?

Travis followed that by telling me that he really loved to travel, which I completely agreed with.

He mentioned that right there in LA, they are building a train to and from LAX that goes around the city.

Rather than paying for an Uber to the airport, that train will give people a more convenient option of getting there, which he said would also be awesome for his love of travel.

I was super impressed to hear that in order to move back to North Carolina, Travis had driven all the way across the country.

Even though it took him three days and a lot of mileage, that was exactly what he seemed to love, and it brought him joy.
