Glad To Be Here
As I sat down to ask her a little about her life, Bunny made me laugh with her response: “All 91 years?”.
Born in Massachusetts, she said that she’s had the “nicest life”, working as a guidance counselor as well as working at the Naples Philharmonic.
Speaking very fondly of her family, she mentioned her husband, children, and friends as being the most important parts of her life.
As our conversation went on, she shared a really interesting perspective.
When asked the question “How are you”, Bunny said that there are two groups of people: Those who respond with “I don’t know, how should I feel?”, and those who respond with “I’m lucky to be here to answer that question”.
Clearly, Bunny was a part of the latter group of people.
What brings her joy?
It made perfect sense when I asked her what her source of joy was.
Bunny told me that it was simply learning from the lives of other people.
She loved being able to answer the question “how are you” because it always opened the door for learning something new from others, which ironically was quite similar to the mission of my blog.
She made the point that even our small conversation brought her joy, which I found awesome because I felt the same way.
