Spread Some Smiles
In all honesty, I would not have guessed that Father Pete was a priest if I had never met him.
We were sitting on the metro, and he wore a yellow collared shirt with shorts, appearing like most other metro riders that day.
Fr. Pete told me that he grew up and was living in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was working as a priest at a school.
Being raised by committed and loving parents who sacrificed much for him, Fr. Pete felt that he wanted to sacrifice just as they did.
Searching for a way to accomplish this, he found this ability through the priesthood.
However, Fr. Pete did not see this as a burdening sacrifice; rather, he told me that he loved being a priest!
Meet Fr. Pete
What brings him joy?
Being a priest, he said, Fr. Pete always tries to bring joy to the lives of others as much as possible.
Even if it is through small acts of kindness, Fr. Pete sees his role as a priest as an opportunity to spread positivity.
Thus, he said that his source of joy was simply spreading joy to those around him, which I found very admirable.
As he put it, the only thing we can control is how we act, and he chooses to make people smile whenever he can.
