Siblings Rule

Walking out of school today, I had Skittles on the brain, and the best place to find those was Union Station.

After I bought the candy, I realized I had a lot of time, so I figured I’d go talk to somebody.

Therefore, I sat down and introduced myself to a woman named Rebecca, who was just sitting by the train entrance.

She told me she was catching a train to Baltimore, and that since she’d gotten there early, I’d caught her at the right time.

From Baltimore, she would catch a flight to Tampa, FL, where she was going to be a nanny for the week.

Rebecca has previously been a nanny for this family in Tampa, and she was just going down for the week to spend some time with them and relax.

Rebecca was actually from Illinois and had moved to DC to work with a Think Tank on their finance team.

Meet Rebecca

What brings her joy?

Interestingly enough, Rebecca was getting ready to catch a train to go see her source of joy - her sister.

As Rebecca put it, they are practically inseparable, and the two have grown super close over the years.

I told her that we shared that in common, since my sister and I are the same way.

Her sister had actually been the nanny for the family in Tampa before Rebecca, which was how she got the job.

Rebecca said that they see each other often, bringing joy even if it means train rides between cities.
