Best Roommate Ever
After a long morning of homework and time inside, I decided I was due for some time outside, even if it just meant a walk down the street near my house.
As I was walking, I saw someone sitting at a bus stop, so I stopped for a minute and introduced myself.
Her name was Rebecca, and as it turned out, she was catching a bus to go to Michaels, a local supply store.
Rebeca needed yarn because she was making hats and gloves for her friends in college.
Rebeca and her family are from New Jersey, and she sometimes gets to visit some of her extended family in Mexico, which I thought was awesome.
Interestingly enough, Rebeca’s favorite hobby is crocheting, which explains her trip to Michaels.
She saw it on TikTok, it seemed fun, and now she has a cool activity in her spare time!
In college, she’s studying political science and legal studies, and we agreed that DC is the perfect place for that.
What brings her joy?
One of the people she was crocheting for, her roommate, was the source of joy that she described to me.
They’ve lived together and been best friends since freshman year, and when they got paired as roommates, their profiles were a 98% match.
They do all sorts of fun things together: just the other day, they went to a fall-themed party and had a great time.
This party eventually led to hanging out with friends on their porch, and there was a lot of joy to be had in just sharing some laughs.
I’ve been working on all of my college applications lately, so this made me especially excited for the years to come!
